Delhi beats Punjab by five wickets

Patiala, Sep 26 (UNI) Delhi won the inaugural (U-13) North Zone cricket tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy beating the fancied Punjab team by five wickets here today.

Punjab won the toss and elected to bat. The lost were all out for 159 runs in 59.1 overs. Shivin with 49 and Viran with 27 were the only batsmen who played with responsibility. Left arm spinner Vikas Singh took 3 wickets in 11.1 overs, conceding 23 runs. Abhishek Shokeen took 2 for 25 in 12 overs.

Delhi scored 179 for 5 in 52 overs in style. Prateek scored a masterly 60 with 7 fours in 74 balls, while Vikas Singh notched up 29 in 21 balls, hitting 3 fours and a huge 6. For Punjab, Abhishek took 3 for 41 and Karan Goyal captured 2 wickets, giving away 33 runs in 11 overs.
