CPI (ML) criticises WB government's 'pro-SEZ' policy
New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) The ultra Left CPI (ML) today flayed the CPI (M)-led West Bengal government's move to give agricultural land to the Tata Motors to set up a highly-automated plant at Singur in Hooghly district.
Terming the state government's decision as ''pro-corporate'' and ''anti-peasant'', CPI (ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said the Left Front government was using the Land Acquisition Act to take away land from farmers.
At a time when peasants and agricultural workers all over the country are resisting the central government's policy of creating special economic zones (SEZs), the CPI (M)-led government in the state is following in the footsteps of the UPA, Mr Bhattacharya said.
