Council adjourned amidst noisy scenes
Belgaum, Sep 26 (UNI) Chairman Sachidanand Khot adjourned the Karnataka Legislative Council following noisy scenes in the house over an amendment to the Karnataka Urban and rural schemes act.
Members belonging to the opposition and treasury benches had heated exchanges over the introduction of the amendment with the Opposition members insisting that the house should discuss only problems relating to Northern Karnataka.
Medical Education Minsiter V S Acharya introduced the bill on behalf of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Members belonging to the ruling parties asserted that it was for the Chair to decide an discussion on the bill which had been only tabled by the Minister.
