Consortium test invalid : Committee
Kochi, Sep 26 (UNI) The P A Mohammed Committee has held that the entrance test conducted by a consortium of private medical colleges for admission to the management seats as 'invalid and inoperative.' The Admission Supervisory Committee headed by former judge P A Mohammed found discrepancies in the test conducted by the consortium consisting S U T College of Medicine in Thiruvananthapuram, Sree Shankara Dental College in Varkala, Kannur Medical College and Kannur Dental College.
The committee last night said around 96 per cent of the candidates secured more than 90 per cent marks in the test, which was 'strange.' It also observed that 11 students had got 100 per cent marks in the test whereas the highest mark for the entrance examination conducted by the State Commissioner of Entrance Examinations was only 90.51 per cent.
This pratice reveals a hidden agenda on the part of management to select students of their choice, the committee added.
