Call rates trade flat at 6.40 - 6.50 pc level, bonds high
Mumbai, Sept 26 (UNI) Call rates traded flat between 6.40-6.50 per cent amidst moderate demand and sufficient liquidity.
RBI in the call money market on Sept 25 transacted Rs 20,557.78 crores at the weighted average of 6.43 per cent.
In the first Liquidity adjustment RBI transacted Rs 5640 crores through four bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent, whereas, in the second liquidity auction the amount transacted was to the tune of Rs 9880 crores through 16 bids.
RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.
Gilts opened on a firm note and traded high through the day, however inermitent profit taking took away some gains. The bond (GS 8.07 per cent 2017) traded at 103.18 and gave a yield of 7.62 per cent.
Today, RBI had fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 45.97/ US Dollar compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.86/US Dollar.
