Army captain and two militants killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 26 (UNI) An army captain and two militants were killed in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said troops conducted a search operation at Bandipora, about 55 km from here, following a tip-off that militants were hiding there.

However, when the troops were sealing the area, the militants opened fire. The fire was returned and in the fierce encounter Capt Vishal was killed.

Two militants were also killed, the sources said.
