Antiques stolen from Patna museum

Patna, Sep 26 (UNI) Altogether 18 ancient statues of Lord Buddha with different size and formation were stolen from Patna Museum here late last night.

Secretary of art and culture department, Anjani Kumar Singh said that theft was detected today morning after the museum employees reported to duty.He said that largest statue of Lord Buddha was of 2 ft height while the remaining one had heights of 17 inches each.

He said a thorough probe was being conducted into the case and an FIR was filed in Kotwali police station in this connection.

The exact value of the antiques was yet to be ascertained and investigation was on to nab the culprits,he added.
