55-year-old doctor dies after consuming pesticide

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) A 55-year-old doctor allegedly committed suicide in Chandni Mahal area of Central Delhi by consuming pesticide.

R K Kaushik, who has his clinic in Turkman Gate, allegedly took the pesticides last night, according to sources.

He was noticed lying unconscious by his daughter in the wee hours today following which he was rushed to a private hospital but was declared 'brought dead'.

In his suicide note, Kaushik while repenting his deeds blamed his compounder, a married woman who worked at his clinic for nearly 20 years and had recently left him, for threatening and blackmailing him and for the mental agony he was going through which forced him to take the extreme step.

Meanwhile, a senior police official said though a case has been registered, police was veryfying facts.

Kaushik left behind three daughters.
