UPA creating hurdles in Reliance's Dadri power project: Mulayam
Etawah, Sep 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today slammed the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for being a hurdle in setting up of Reliance's proposed power project at Dadri in Ghaziabad.
''We are planning to provide sufficient power in UP within two years, but the Centre is a constant obstacle in our way,'' Mr Yadav alleged after distributing unemployment allowance and 'Kanya Vidya Dhan' at his native village Saifai here.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was also present on the occasion.
The CM claimed that his government had given employment to six lakh youth, while this year around two lakh more youth would be given government jobs.
UP was the first state to launch employment allowance and 'Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna' programmes, he added.
''To develop UP into 'Uttam Pradesh', UP Development Council (UPDC) chairman Amar Singh and UPDC member Amitabh Bachchan have played prominent roles,'' Mr Yadav asserted.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Singh said the Mulayam regime was the only government after independence to think of unemployment allowance and 'Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna' for the benefit of the masses.
