UP govt is anti-farmer: RLD
Jaunpur, Sep 25 (UNI) The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today slammed the Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh government for its alleged anti-farmer policies.
Interestingly, RLD is the major alliance partner of the Samajwadi Party-led state government.
Attending a 'Kisan Mazdoor Sammelan' here, RLD president and former union minister Ajit Singh said farmers constitute 70 per cent of India's population and a country which does not pay heed to their grievances could not prosper.
''The government which came to power with the support of big industrialists can never do any good to farmers.'' Mr Singh added.
He said during the last 3 years of its regime, SP has failed on all aspects and all promises of the Chief Minister of developing UP into a 'Uttam Pradesh' were only made to increase the vote bank.
Till the state government does not invest money in agriculture, the problem of unemployment would continue to exist, Mr Singh said.
