TN CM condoles Padmini's demise

Chennai, Sep 25 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today expressed profound grief over the demise of legendary actor Padmini here last night.

''The shining star amid a galaxy of stars in the film industry, is no more,'' the Chief Minister, who himself came from the film industry said in a statement here.

Mr Karunanidhi said he failed to find words to express his grief that Padmini, who came to felicitate him on Saturday, despite her ill-health at the function organised by the film industry, ended her life with the felicitations.

Recalling Padmini's one of the impressive performances in dance sequence ''Nalandana'' (how are you) in the film ''Thillana Moganambal'', Mr Karunanidhi said the actor who was enquiring everyone with ''Nalandana'', whereever she was, is no more.

He wondered how death could embrace the wonderful and finest artiste.
