six education officials not given salaries for dereliction of duties

Hazaribagh, Sep 25 (UNI) The Commissioner of North Chhotanagpur has stopped the salaries of six education department officials, including three District Education Officers (DEO) and two District Superintendents of Education (DSE), for their alleged carelessness in recommending the names of teachers for the President's award.

The decision was taken after DSEs of Chatra, Bokaro and Dhanbad and DEOs of Giridih, Bokaro and Dhanbad were found not responsible in their duties.

The officials were absent in the meeting called to discuss the recommendations for the President's award.

The officials under scanner failed to send their recommendations on time.

According to rules, the names of two primary and middle school teachers are recommended for the award.
