Rane launches rural employment scheme in Goa
Panaji, Sep 25 (UNI) Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane today launched the Goa Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme, which envisages the right to work by guaranteeing employment to all adult persons in every household for not less than 100 days in the current financial year.
Speaking at a function here, Mr Rane said the Union Government had implemented this scheme in 200 districts across the country in which Goa was not included. The scheme has been tailored on the pattern of the national one to suit Goa.
He said the state has been adjudged as the best among the small states in the country. The government would strive to ensure employment to each adult in the state. The panchayats have to work dedicatedly to ensure success of the scheme, the Chief Minister added.
Rural Development Minister Subhash Shirodkar was also present on the occasion.
