Raje has no intention of building Haj House: Cong
Jaipur, Sep 25 (UNI) The Congress today alleged that Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's Government holding foundation ceremony of Haj House was just an eyewash to appease the Muslims and it actually had no intention to build it.
Speaking with the mediamen here, the state Congress unit chief B D Kalla said it is very much possible that the protests by senior BJP leaders were all engineered to create a row which will eventually stall the building of the Haj House.
On a query about the site of Haj House, Mr Kalla said Haj House should be built at both places Karbala, where Congress laid the foundation laying ceremony and Ramsinghpura in Hindu-dominated Sanganer area as the number of Hajpilgrims have increased from Jaipur with direct flights to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
But he said the BJP has raked up this controversy and should resolve the issue by putting their house in order first.
Thousands of agitators, including residents of Sanganer area, had protested the foundation laying ceremony of the Haj House by the Chief Minister on September 20.
Rampaging protestors burnt tyres and pelted stones at the police, who resorted to lathicharge, lobbed teargas shells and aired rubber shots to disperse the violent agitators.
The Sanganer unit of BJP and its allied organisations had vowed to disrupt the foundation function of the Haj House.
