No sealing till September 30: MCD

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi put on hold its controversial sealing drive till September 30 today after failing to get an assurance of adequate police protection to its personnel.

''The sealing drive has been put on hold till September 30 because Delhi police said it was unable to deploy additional force,'' a MCD spokesman said.

Delhi police have made additional security measures in various markets during the festival shopping season.

The sealing drive was on hold since September 21, a day after four persons were killed in police firing as an anti-sealing bandh called by trader's bodies and the Opposition BJP turned violent.
