Metal prices declined on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) Metal prices declined on poor industrial demand in line with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In ferrous section : copper utensils, copper heavy and aluminium utensils eased by Rs 300, Rs 200 and Rs 150 per quintal while brass utensils and brass cuttings fell by Rs 100 each per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.
In non-ferrous section : copper wire bar and zinc slab declined by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectivley on increaed offers by stockists.
Tin slab and nickel cathode came down by Rs three and Rs 20 per kg respectively on thin buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,100, Copper utensils - Rs 32,200, Brass utensils - Rs 22,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,300 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,350.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,500, Zinc slab - Rs 18,900, Lead ingots - Rs 6,900, Tin slab - Rs 515 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,720 (per kg).
