Meghalaya gets its first eco-battery operated vehicle
Shillong, Sept 25 (UNI) Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Donkupar Roy today flagged off the first Reva Classe Eco-battery operated vehicle here.
The vehicle was purchased by the Meghalaya Non-conventional and Rural Energy Development Agency and would be used by its Director K Tiewsoh.
Talking to newsmen after flagging off the non-polluting and environment-friendly vehicle, manufactured by a Bangalore-based firm, Dr Roy said it was found to be very economical, easy to maintain, recharge, drive and park.
The two-seater vehicle was purchased at a cost of over Rs 4.07 lakh and Rs 75,000 was given as central assistance from the Union Ministry of non-conventional energy resources.
