K'taka Legislature pays tribute to Bismillah Khan

Belgaum, Sep 25 (UNI) Both the Houses of the Karnataka Legislature today condoled the death of Shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan and former Governor Bhanupratap Singh.

Soon after the Houses assembled at a historic special session here, obituary references were also made to former Ministers L G Havanur and G Puttaswamy Gowda, besides former Member of Parliament S M Guraddi.

The Houses also condoled the death of former members Venkangouda Hanumantgouda Patil, M D Shivpur, Somalingappa, H Nalavagala, Govingrao Manvi, B K Puttaiah and Nadaf Mohammad Sab, eminent personalities Mathighatta Krishnamurthy, S K Karim Khan, Mahadevi Tahyi and those killed in the Mumbai and Malegaon terror attacks.

Rich accolades were paid to the Shehnai wizard and two minutes' silence was observed to pay respect to the departed souls.
