Srinagar, Sep 25 (UNI) Concerned over frequent road accidents in the Jammu region, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered an inquiry into the recent Budhal-Rajouri bus accident in which six passengers were killed and 58 wounded.

An official spokesman today said the inquiry was ordered at a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma.

Taking serious note of repeated accidents, Mr Sharma stated that a case should be registered and action taken against those responsible for negligent driving.

He directed the investigating officer to verify the fitness certificate of the vehicle and the driving licence of the driver.

He has been further asked to find out whether vehicles were found fit by traffic officials for plying on the Rajouri-Budhal road.
