INLD leader's bail plea dismissed

Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) Justice M M Aggarwal of Punjab and Haryana High Court today dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Vinod Kumar Arora, an accused in the alleged murder of Chand Singh Brar, a Congress leader from Sirsa district in Haryana.

The counsel for the petitioner alleged Mr Arora's false implication in the case due to political reasons since the accused happened to be the district unit president of the main opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).

The case against him was registered at Sadar police station, Dabwali in Sirsa district on July 26, 2006 under section 302, 307, 120-B IPC, besides some sections of the Arms Act.

It was also submitted that the case was primarily politically motivated as an attempt to implicate former INLD legislator Abhey Singh Chautala, the younger son of the former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, had also been made.

However, Justice Aggarwal did not find any merit in the plea and dismissed it.
