Hearing in rape case against Gaganjit adjourned till Oct 25

Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) A local court today adjourned the hearing into the rape case against Punjab MLA Gaganjit Singh till October 25.

The Akali MLA, son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, had been released on bail last week, after his arrest under section 376 IPC on August 12 .

Judicial Magistrate (Class-I) R K Singla today adjourned the hearing to October 25 as Judicial Magistrate (Class-I) Harkirat Kaur, who has been hearing the case, is on leave today.

The accused MLA from Dhuri has been accused of raping his middle-age maid at his MLA flat here.
