Gujarat civic bypolls on October 15

Gandhinagar, Sep 25 (UNI) Elections to twelve seats in four wards of Porbandar and Valsad municipalities will be held on October 15, according to an official statement here today.

Elections to nine seats, which had fallen vacant in eight other municipalities, will also be held on the same day.

Elections to Ward nos 8 and 9 of Ranvav municipality in Porbandar district and ward nos 13 and 14 of Valsad municipality in Valsad district would be held in the normal course of the term.

Byelections will be held in ward No 2 of Radhanpur municipality of Patan district, ward No 10 of Dabhoi municipality of Vadodara municipality; ward Nos 2 and 3 of Vijapur municipality of Mehsana district; ward No 2 of Bharuch municipality of Bharuch district; ward No 9 of Mandvi municipality of Kutch district; ward Nos 1 and 6 of Kalavad municipality of Jamnagar district.

The last day for filing nomination forms is September 30.

Scrutiny of applications will be held on October 3, polling will be held on October 15, and counting of votes would be on October 17, the release said.
