GTDC to celebrate World Tourism Week from Sep 27
Panaji, Sep 25 (UNI) Goa Tourism Development Corporation( GTDC) will celebrate World Tourism Week from September 27 to October 3 on the theme ''Tourism enriches individuals, families, communities and all the world''.
GTDC chairperson Fatima D'Sa and managing director Sanjit Rodrigues told reporters here today that during the week, the Corporation will organise various activites with people's involvement.
On September 27, a boat cruise is being organised for about 150 special children. On the next day, a ''Calangute community walk'' will be organised from Calangute beach till its extension at Baga with a view to create awareness on local life. On September 29, a cruise will be organised for the benefit of the inmates at the Mother Teresa homes for the aged. On September 30, a hinterland tour to Pasoal's Spice Village will be held. A sand castle and sand sculpture competition has been planned on October 1 in which children in the age group of 9-16 can participate, Ms D'Sa said.
Apart from celebrating the Tourism Week, the GTDC will also organise a professional artists camp at the Farmagudi Residence from October 12 to 18 and also a ''Ya Ya Mayem Ya'' at Mayem Lake.
The GTDC is also partnering with the Indian Institute of Interior Designers for the ''777 - An Eco Tourism Committment'', Ms D'Sa said.
