Govt General hospital employees observe dharna

Puducherry, Sept 25(UNI) Functioning of the Government General hospital here was affected as the Joint Action Committee of the group " D" employees struck work and observed a dharna in front of the hospital to press their demands today.

The Action Committee had resorted to a seven-day strike in July this year to press the govrnment to remove the anomalies in their pay scale. The government had assured that it would look into it, following which they called off their agitation and resumed duty.

However, even after two months no action was taken to fulfil their demand, following which the action committee resorted to the strike.

Meanwhile, the Pharmacists Association continued their stir for the sixth day today demanding the creation of new pharmacisits posts and wage revision. They also held a dharna in front of the Government General Hospital.
