French Carrefour may open retail stores in India with Dubai-based co
Dubai, Sep 25 (UNI) French retail giant Carrefour is in talks to create a joint venture with Dubai-based Landmark Group to open 200 retail stores throughout India in the next 10 years.
Landmark Group CEO Micky Jagtiani was ''very optimistic'' about establishing a joint-venture deal with the French retail chain, Gulf News quoted him as saying.
''Should the deal be finalised, stores will be located in primary and secondary cities throughout India,'' he added without setting up a timeframe for reaching an agreement with the French group.
Carrefour, the world's second largest retailer after United State's Wal-Mart, has had its eye on the Indian market for quite some time now.
