Four 7/11 blast suspects booked under MCOCA

Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) The four suspects, arrested by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in connection with the July 11 Mumbai serial train blasts, were today booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

ATS sources said Dr Tanvir Ahmed Mohammed Ansari who is suspected to have Lashkar-e-Toiba links, Faisal Sheikh, Kamal Ansari and Ehtesham Siddiqui, arrested earlier and now in the custody of ATS, have been booked under MCOCA.

All the four were produced before the court and remanded in police custody till October 9.

The ATS has so far arrested nine persons who have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Indian Explosive Act like section 302 (murder), section 307 (attempt to murder), section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), sction 147 (rioting), and section 149 (unlawful assembly).

But, now, the ATS has booked four of them under MCOCA.

The 7/11 blasts in Mumbai claimed 186 lives and left over 800 injured.
