Charges framed against Randeep Singh Surjewala and 11 others
New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) A local court today framed charges against Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Haryana state transport minister and 11 other accused for holding demonstration against the BJP government and deterring the police officials from discharging their duties as public servants, resisting execution of law, using criminal forces, assault etc on July 25, 2000.
The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Dr Kamini Lau after hearing the arguments in the case framed charges under section 147, 149, 186,188, 332, 427, 353 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 3 of Damages to Public Property Act against Mr Surjewala and 11 other accused.
Besides Mr Surjewala, the charges have been framed against Jagat Singh, Pardeep Jaildaar, Vijay Nalwa, Rajesh Garg, Anand Singh, Joginder Malik, Shailender Chauhan, Jasbeer Singh, Umed Singh and Laxman Rawat.
The court adjourned the case for April 6, 2007 for prosecution evidence.
