Centre allocates Rs50 crore to upgrade hospitals in Mizoram
Aizawl, Sep 25 (UNI) The Centre has allocated Rs 54 crore for upgrading various district civil hospitals in Mizoram.
In a meeting of the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) state committee, Health Minister R Tlanghmingthanga said, the Centre had also separately allocated Rs 54 crore for renovating various civil hospitals.
''Besides, the Centre had agreed to construct helipad at the civil hospital premises in the state,'' he added.
He also informed that the Centre has earmarked Rs 4842.27 lakhs to the state under the NRHM for the current fiscal out of which Rs 2037.47 lakhs have been received for family welfare and Rs 810.36 lakhs for disease control programmes.'' Mr Tlanghmingthanga said the NHRM programme in the state would include upgradation of community health centres at Saitual, Sakwrdai, Kawrthah, Vairengte, Ngopa, Biate, Thenzawl, Hnahthial and Chawngte for which Rs 20 lakhs has been allocated.
Four specialists doctors would be appointed at each community health centres, he added.
