Bihar to have a development council-Nitish

Patna, Sep 25 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced constitution of a development council for suggesting ways and means for uplift of the state.

After a detailed discussion with the delegation of Mahindra and Mahindra company, led by its head Aanad Mahindra, Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the state had constituted a development council and requested Mr Mahindra to associate himself with the council for an overall development of the state.

He said apart from investment, Mahindra and Mahindra would share its valuable suggestions for development of the state.

Mr Kumar said representatives of other companies would also be associated with the council and claimed that the recent visit of heads of different big business houses indicated that Bihar was going to be a place of choice for investment for the industrialists.

He said an investment-friendly environment had been made and projects worth Rs 14,000 crore approved for different sectors.

Mr Mahindra assured of setting up agricultural park with processing units and software park and said it would expand its all six sectors, including its financing units.

Mr Mahindra commended the initiatives of Mr kumar taken in a short span of his rule, saying Mr Kumar was moving on right path.

He said his company would explore possibilities for investment in the agriculture sector.
