APSCABEA to go for indefinite strike

Itanagar, Sept 25: The Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Apex Bank Employees' Association (APSCABEA) will go for indefinite strike from October 6 in protest against the state government's failure to fulfill it's demands for revival of the ailing bank.

Association president N Tati, in a statement, said that though the state government has announced financial package of Rs 20 crore, in form of equity, the fund has not been fully released and the bank has no proper administration yet.

However, the association demanded that the authorities should take immediate steps to provide Rs 250 crore as soft loan from NABARD or other financial institution, implement of Vaidyanathan Committee recommendations, appoint a full-time managing director and closure or merger of loss making bank branches for effective functioning of the bank.

Demanding the release of staff salary regularly, the association further said that all non-treasury funds should be parked with the bank and credit facilities should be allowed.
