AP minister dismisses reports on 'ORR land scam'

Hyderabad, Sep 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao today dismissed the reports that the state government has changed the alignment of the proposed Outer Ring Road (ORR) for the benefit of the Congress leaders who owned land at the ORR, on the outskirts of the city.

Asked about media reports that Rs 2,500 crore scam had taken place in the sale of lands near the ORR and changed the alignment of the ORR for the benefit of the land owners who were belonging to the ruling party, he charged a section of the media colluded with the opposition parties and was maligning the image of the state government by publishing wrong reports without any proof.

Stating that the High Court also supported the state government on re-alignment of the ORR and delivered judgement in favour of the government recently, Mr Rao pointed out that the same media group did not publish even a single report on 'IMG Bharat land scam' during the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime in the state.

Alleging that the TDP leaders, cine actors and realtors belonging to opposition parties also bought the lands at ORR, Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) Chairman Sudheer Reddy said the opposition parties were trying to defame the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
