Amitabh's security not scaled down: Patil

Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said the security of superstar Amitabh Bachchan has not been scaled down.

''He continues to remain in the X-category security. Only the police escort has been withdrawn,'' Mr Patil told reporters after his arrival from Belgaum where he attended a meeting of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti.

Mr Patil rejected accusations of political vendatta in reducing the security. ''Not only Amitabh, the security of many politicians from different political parties has been reduced. Because of the decision of the security review committee, over 750 policemen will be freed for law and order duty,'' he said.

He said he will again review the security to VVIPs and look into complaints if any.
