AISF demands holiday on Bhagat Singh birth anniversary
Jammu Sep 25 (UNI) All India Students Federation (AISF) has demanded the Jammu and Kashmir government to declare a holiday on September 28--the birth anniversay of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
AISF, in a meeting, chaired by its state president Akash Manhas, also decided that the student community will celebrate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Mr Manhas later said in a statement that the meeting highlighted the life history, works and objectives of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Bhagat Singh and his classmate Comrade Dhanvantri. Shaheed Baghat Singh sacrificed his life for the freedom movement. His aim was to free India from British imperialism and form a socialist society in India.
