AIADMK solicits support for JIPMER strike

Puducherry, Sep 25 (UNI) The Puducherry Unit of the AIADMK today called up on all sections of the society to extend support to the bandh by the JIPMER Anti-Conversion Peoples Action Committee tomorrow and make it a success.

In a statement here AIADMK state secretary A Anbazhagan pointed out that the agitation by the employees was not for enhancing their wages or getting a promotion, but to protect JIPMER from private parties under the pretext of autonomy.

The Republican Party of India and a few merchants associations have also extended support to the strike.

Meanwhile, the all traders welfare association here urged the administration to provide adequate protection to those who come forward to open their shops during the bandh tomorrow.
