13 arrested in Sati case

Chhatarpur, Sept 25: Three more people, including a woman, were arrested taking to 13 the total arrests in connection with the 'Sati' committed by a 95-year-old Rajput woman at Baniyani village in this district of Madhya Pradesh.

Paltu Rajput, Shripal Rajput and Rajabai were arrested yesterday.

A total of 10 people, including the woman's four sons, were arrested earlier, police said.

95-year-old Rajput woman Karuyya Devi committed Sati on the funeral pyre of her husband Siyaram, who died of prolonged illness at the age of 100 on September 20.

The police has named more than 30 people, including 16 unidentified people, as accused in the case.
