Special programmes on World Heart Day

New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) A number of special programmes were organised to spread awareness about preventive heart care on the occasion of World Heart Day here today.

Nearly 1,000 people participated in a walk from the Shantivan to Rajghat in the morning. Earlier, a number of doctors addressed the gathering at Shantivan about issues related to heart care.

Union Urban Development Minister Ajay Maken gave away awards to a number of people, including cardiologists, at a function organised by the Indian Heart Foundation at the Kamani auditorium.

Delhi Finance Minister A K Walia inaugurated a cardiac awareness camp organised by a private hospital in Laxmi Nagar while another private hospital organised a rally to mark the day.
