Punjab Police bust hawala racket, Rs 21 lakh recovered

Phagwara, Sep 24 (UNI) The Punjab Police busted a hawala racket and arrested two members of an international gang near Saprodd village today.

The police also seized Rs 21 lakh hawala money from the arrested gang members identified as Preet Mohinder Singh and his brother Charanjit Singh of Basti Shiekh in Jalandhar.

Giving details, ASP Sukhchain Singh Gill said the hawala money was to be distributed in different areas of Jalandhar and Kapurthala district. A car which was used for transporting the illegal money was also impounded.

A case had been registered and further invetsigations are being conducted in the case.
