Murder accused hangs himself

Puducherry, Sep 24 (UNI) A man accused of murdering his wife allegedly committed suicide here.

Police said Ramachandra Reddy of Andhra Pradesh had murdered his wife Sujatha in a lodge here on April 13. He and parents were arrested and later, a court granted them bail.

Reddy, who got a conditional bail, had to appear before the Judicial Magistrate II every day and sign a register.

Since he could not come to Puducherry every day, Reddy stayed in a lodge here.

He retired to his room last night after dinner. Since the door remained closed till evening and phone calls remained unanswered, the staff informed the police who broke open the door and found Reddy's body hanging from the ceiling.

Police recovered a suicide note stating nobody was responsible for his death and that he had killed his wife on suspicion. He also said his parents had no role in the murder.
