4 militants killed in encounter near LoC in JK

Srinagar, Sept 24: At least four militants were killed by troops in an encounter near the Line of Control (Loc) at Uri in Baramulla district today, an army spokesman said .

He said acting on a tip off, troops launched a search operation at Trikanjan, Boniyar in Border town of Uri early this morning.

On seeing the troops, militants attacked them with automatic weapons and grenades, resulting in a fierce encounter.

The spokesman said four militants were killed in the gunfight so far.

The operation was still in progress when reports last came in, he added.
