Manipal Heart Foundation launches centre for Cardiology/hypertension

Bangalore, Sep 24 (UNI) Manipal Heart Foundation has introduced a comprehensive Centre for Preventive Cardiology and Hypertension with dedicated doctors and support staff.

Based on the guidelines of the World Health Orgtanisation, the Centre had selected best ptractices from various universities in the West.

A foundation release here said that the Centre had designed a structured programme to offer check up and recognition of cardiovascular diseases or abnormalities and identify risk factors and promote good healthness.

Dr Nagendra Swamy Medical Director of Manipal Hospital said in the release said that heart diseases were a major emotional and economical strain on the patient and his familty. referring to data from the West he said each dollar spent onpreventive measures cold save upto ten on crative aspects. This promotion was higher in India given the much lower costs of preventive medicine and prohibitive costs of treatment.
