Jawan shots himself and his 4 colleagues

Imphal, Sep 24 (UNI) An Asom Rifles jawan shot himself soon after killing four of his colleagues and injuring as many at Kadamtala near here.

The Defence Wing PRO today said the jawan went on a firing spree killing four of his colleagues on the spot yesterday.

The four others who sustained bullet injuries were rushed to hospital, the PRO said.

The jawan was coming from Asom towards his unit at Manipur and started firing after he reached the border areas of the state.

A departmental enquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of firing, the PRO said.
