Hampi Utsav from November 3
Mysore, Sep 24 (UNI) A three day Hampi utsav will be held from November three, said G Kumar Nayak, tourism commissioner of Kanrataka.
Speaking to newsmen here today he said that the Hampi utsav will be held in a grand manner on the eve of Suvarna Karnataka and necessary arrangements would be made as usual.
Though the infrastructures for the accommodation facilities not availalbe in and around the Hampi, the Tourism department has plans to conduct package tours from Hubli, Belgaum Gulbarga Davanagere besides from Bangalore and Mysore also.
Stating that the department had sought Rs 54 crore from the government for infrastructure development of tourists spots, particularly development of approach roads to the spots.
Eleven tourist destinations have been identified in the state for infrastrcture development.
The department had taken up works at the cost of Rs ten crore from the department budget of Rs 50 crore. Mr Kumar said the department had plans to introduce an tourist executive courses for four years master degrees in the state and proposals have bee sent for government's approval.
It would be began in reputed institutes in the Bangalore and degree would be awarded through Bangalorre University. Every year nearly 40 to 60 such executives come out to serve in the tourism department which has wide range of the employment opportunity.
