Couple arrested in connection with serial bomb blast

Kohima, Sep 24 (UNI) Dimapur police has arrested a former NSCN(K) finance secretary and his wife in connection with the serial blasts since last few months.

On September 20, the accused had come to a shop in Dimapur to collect money and threatened to lob a bomb in the shop, if the shopkeeper failed to pay the money official sources said.

However, the plain-clothed apprehended the miscreant when he came to collect the money from the shop.

His wife had also been arrested in this regard.

The secretary's wife told the police that a person from Kohima had informed her over phone to ask her husband to collect the money from the shop.

However, the secretary later admitted that he had collected the money in the name of NSCN (K).

Further interrogation was on to establish his involvement in the bomb blasts, the sources said.
