Cerebral Malaria toll reaches 84

Mainpuri, Sep 24 (UNI) The deadly Cerebral Malaria (CM) continues to haunt Uttar Pradesh with the toll mounting to 84 with three more deaths here during the last 24 hours.

The deceased include two from Ghighor block, while one from Bebar block.About 800 patients are still under treatment.

Mainpuri and Bhogaon tehsil have become the centre of CM menace since last one month.The endemic afflicts UP during monsoon every year.

The government had undertaken a massive vaccination drive against the vector-borne disease.
