Captured tiger dies in Mysore Zoo

Mysore, Sep 24 (UNI) A six year old tiger which was captured in the Nagarahole forests when it poached into a coffee estate was killed soon after it was brought to the Zoological Gardens here today.

The tiger which appeared injured failed to respond to the trap of forest officials when a dog was kept as a bait after the tiger made its entry at Nanchi near Ballari Gate in Nagarahole forests.

However a veterinary doctor administer a tranqualiser last evening.

The captured tiger was immediately shifted to the Zoo and before it could be taken to the hospital inside the zoo, it died, sources in the Zoo told UNI.

The sources said that the tiger had entered human settlement and preyed on cattle as it was not in good health.

According to a report from Madikeri the man eater had killed a pedestrian at Balele and a number of cows and buffaloes. It had injured a villager as well.
