New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) Nine bank officers' and employee unions under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions will strike work next month to press for demands relating to pension benefits, restoration of compassionate ground appointments and to oppose merger and acquisition of banks.
According to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh-affiliated National Organisation of Bank Workers', (NOBW) the unions would go on day's strike on October 27 and an an indefinite stir later if their demands were not met.
Moreover, the NOBW central executive committee has passed a resolution opposing the merger of Lord Krishna Bank with Centurion Bank of Punjab. The executive committee said LKB should be merged with a nationalised bank instead of the Centurion Bank.
