Adulterated oil unit busted in city's suburb

Chennai, Sep 24 (UNI) A special police team today unearthed a fake oil extraction unit at suburban Cholavaram and arrested three people involved in manufacturing the oil.

During vehicle checks in Peravllur on the outskirts of the city last evening, Peravllur Police intercepted a van and found three barrels containing adulterated oil.

After detailed questioning of the trio, a team led by Pulianthope Deputy Commissioner of Police Sampath Kumar raided the oil mill at Edappalayam near Cholavaram and seized 13 barrels of the oil this morning.

The three were arrested under the Food and Adulteration Act.

A search was on to nab five others who were involved in the fake oil manufacturing unit.
