Romania and South Korea level at 1-1

BUCHAREST, Sep 22 (Reuters) Romania and South Korea were level at 1-1 after the opening singles matches in their Davis Cup world group play-off match today.

Andrei Pavel beat Jun Woong-Sun 6-0 6-4 6-3 but suffered a slight shoulder injury to put his participation in tomorrow's doubles in doubt.

Korea's Lee Hyung-taik demolished Romania's Victor Crivoi 6-1 6-1 6-0 to level the tie.

''I played well today and I want to repeat my performance in the next two days,'' Lee said.
