Road blockade in Suratkal-Mangalore stretch

Mangalore, Sep 23 (UNI) Office goers and workers were put to severe inconvenience today following a dawn to dusk road blockade agitation on national highway 17 between Suratkal and Mangalore by the BJP Suratkal unit against the bad condition of the highway.

All private moffusil, express and city buses on the route remained off the roads, extending support to the stir. Private vehicles were not allowed to ply in the stretch.

The agitators also protested against the ''apathy'' of the Centre and the National Highways Authority of India to repair the NH.
