Reliance Telecom registers rise in subscriber base
Guwahati, Sept 23 (UNI) Reliance Telecom Ltd (RTL), the largest mobile network provider in the region, has registered a subscriber base of 3.5 lakh in the North East region.
RTL's N E Circle head C.R.Deka said network expansion operations would start in several new locations in Assam and North East.
He said the company's network would be rolled out in 77 new towns in the next two months and it would be followed by roll out in another 129 towns before the end of the current financial year.
In spite of difficulties, operations in Manipur, Nagaland and Agartala were stable and the company has commenced construction of towers at Arunachal and Mizoram, he said.
The company has launched a new lifetime product at Rs 750 with validity for a period of six months with an extention of another six months on subsequent recharge.
The company also announced several pre-puja bonus offers for its post-paid and pre-paid customers.
Mr Deka was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony for the winner of "Gol Karo Jeb Bharo" contest organized by Reliance Telecom through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
Bhaskar Baruah, a resident in this capital city of Assam, has won the bumper prize of Rs one lakh.
The contest was held during the World Cup soccer from June 10 to July 9 this year in all the 10 Reliance telecom circles in the country.
Mr Deka said, "It is a matter of pride that seven RTL customers from North East, including six from Assam, were among the top ten scorers in the third round and two customers won in the final round." Noted Assamese film writer and director Pulok Gogoi gave away the prizes.
